Fossils are obviously a finite resource; an extinct animal has left us only so much evidence of its time on Earth, and that evidence is irreplaceable.  We take responsible preservation and restorations of original material seriously, and treat it with the utmost respect.  Fossils are handled only by trained staff.

 

Our skilled staff can excavate the fossil from its matrix, preserve the specimen with modern archival materials, and build custom mounts for casts and original fossils. 

 

Realistic repairs to original materials are done only with non-reactive, removable materials to prevent damage or alterations to the fossil.
